About the Process
Alloying, carving, casting, finishing - these are all just words until you see the work that gives them meaning.
Hollowed and carved waxes that will become two sterling silver, one shibuichi and one yellow bronze pendant.
Carved and injected waxes sprued and ready to cast.
Fresh from casting, there are masters, one of a kind carvings, and pieces pulled from previously made molds.
Freshly carved and polished ring waxes. 10 of these will become masters, molded and reproduced. The rest will become one of a kind rings.
Ingots that will become a custom eternity band and sterling sheet stock for the backings of Victoria Collection pieces.
Cast and finished masters, just before molding.
Pirced, filed and sanded layers for Victoria Collection pieces. Working in multiples saves time!
Nearly complete Victoria Collection pieces - layers are sweat soldered and pieces are given shape.
The copper and silver grain measured out to become Shibuichi.
A 4 Oz. ingot of freshly alloyed Shibuichi, showing the beautiful oxidization layer before being pickled, rolled, and formed.
